Reunion Dinner with Friends

Thursday, February 15, 2007
I dunno when it started but me and my friends have been doing it for the past few years. Maybe it is because everybody seems to be able to afford a luxurious dinner. Luxurious in the sense that we don't really eat out at such degree everyday. I remember I spent about RM150.00 for a beef and a syrup soaked half-pear with fancy colorful sauce.

This year, I had one of the best "fishy" dinner with my friends. Last Saturday, we went to this Telok Gong a cheap seafood haven made expensive by KL people who think it's still a bargain... Well, compare to the price in KL...it is. We ordered the "as usual" stuff. Raw fish salad (Yi Shang lah tu...), Fish, Crab, squids, bla bla bla..... A bottle of Chivas courtesy from Charlie and wife.

The best thing about it is we have great conversations (honest and funny one definitely). Wai Lin's sister showed up a bit later. She is nothing like Wai Lin...hehe no offence man, she is gorgeous. Anyway, the dinner ended around 9.30 pm after a series of poking fun and talking crap. We headed to Colin's mansion and continue the party with nice red wine courtesy from Colin. We played "in-between" involved money. No....dun fucking shave my head ok. I had to leave early as I have another appointment with friends.

In the other occasion, I didn't freaking see any Escargot I'd been longing to try, in the menu. Thank god I didn't wear my tux there. It turned out, you can really just wear anything.

Jon, Chia Li and Maria Gomez n' Company

Monday, January 29, 2007
The Man is my best college buddy, I met the wife once in The Loft. They tied knot earlier last year April. They told the world last Saturday with style in Berjaya Times Square Hotel Ballroom. Expensive one I would say. I was the bestman though I could not tell the difference of my role and the other bridenapping posse. Anyway, maybe there it is just for the christians...I don't know. No karaoke with Hokkien songs by some uncle auntie. Just soothing lounge jazz (you know, those jazz in the shopping mall or hotel...). The food was not as soothing though, hehehe.

I thought you said you ain't dancing!

The dinner ended without any embarassing mabuk incident from Jon's buddies because everybody there were not that fierce really. We just shouted and shouted. I never shouted this wild since Eason's concert.

After the dinner, I joined my other friends in The Toproom for some live jazz. All Ah Bengs with urge to jazz were all here. The magnificient Maria Gomez (hope I don't mispell the name) was singing, she is good and woooo... There was the lady drummer. You get my ethusiastic don't you? A lady jazz drummer! And she is pretty good too. Mm...mm.. Susan Lancester was there too...

Crazy, Spontaneous & Definitely Tone-deaf Bunch

Thursday, November 30, 2006
Playing badminton with Colin, Shin Yee, Charlie and Brother Run Far Far every fortnightly is really a time killing during the Sunday. By the time we put back whatever we had lost during the game, it's already 2.30 pm. Half of the day was gone left alone the journey back to Klang with dried sweat covering all over my body and the rest of the crew. Hardly smell anything though. The armpits are healthy. Well, that's the routine.

Last weekend was the craziest and "julung-julung kali" for that matter. After the game, we headed to Section 14 PJ, put in back the calories we had lost and gain some... After that we shopped for a while at the Digital Mall. After that we headed to OSIM warehouse sales, loafting for like two hours try all the robotic massagers and trying to convince myself it was a luxury not the a need. Imagine a 50% discounted from RM13,000++. Colin spent like RM800++ and Charlie spent approximately RM700++. Me and Brother Run Far Far didn't get anything. We just chilled with Charlie's Malboro lights.

After that about 3.30 pm, we went straight for cendol in Subang Jaya and people actually queued up for the rojak. Sure damm nice want lah... I got myself a KENT 1 because I know where we are heading next: Galaxy Karaoke... We play American Idol until 8.30pm with only RM24.00 perpax with food and drinks. We went straight back to Klang to have our dinner/supper. Charlie didn't join us cause he has to drive back all way the from Colin's house in Klang to his home in Bukit Rimau. Knn. Our supper ended 11.00 pm.

Reunion With Cikgu Than

Monday, March 27, 2006
Yesterday, I went meet up with my standard four class teacher. Her name is Ms. Than (pronounced Tan). Besides Ms Than, there were there other classmate, Ms Cheong LL, Ms Karen Wong YY and Mr Loy TZ (ya, I know, you don't bother).

Ms Than is a bit tanned. Well, maybe during the eighties, fair skin was a in thing (thanks to boy George...hehehe). She is one of the most remembered teacher. LL messaged me up about the meeting and I was excited. All pictures started to come in mind. Raja Ema's Korea 88' Olympic theme (Ya, she used this song which is in BM to teach us, the method I remember only Michelle Pfeiffer would used in "Dangerous Mind"), keeping a cat as a class pet, The Sound of Music (don't ask...) and infactuation towards the teacher (ya, fucking don't ask about that too).

We were having our dinner in this House of Briyani opposites Bukit Tinggi Tesco. I came late and as I walked in, she call me by the name beefstew...of course not, it's my other name (don't ask that too, I am proud of my name ya, just ain't gonna let you know). She remembers me. Sop...sop...

The most interesting part is she took up the class with LL during LL's uni time. Here I am as classmate with my darjah empat cikgu, after what 12 years? How bizarre.

She stop us from calling her teacher anymore. "Now, we are friends, we can talk about almost anything", she said. We chat about everything, theater, blogs, world event and boys and girls stuff, marriage (burp...), Dan Brown and What-happen-to-them-Now.

The dinner lasted for like 2 hrs ++. We will meet again. LL will organise.
