Maybe it is because everybody seems to be able to afford a luxurious dinner. Luxurious in the sense that we don't really eat out at such degree everyday. I remember I spent about RM150.00 for a beef and a syrup soaked half-pear with fancy colorful sauce.

This year, I had one of the best "fishy" dinner with my friends. Last Saturday, we went to this Telok Gong a cheap seafood haven made expensive by KL people who think it's still a bargain... Well, compare to the price in KL...it is. We ordered the "as usual" stuff. Raw fish salad (Yi Shang lah tu...), Fish, Crab, squids, bla bla bla..... A bottle of Chivas courtesy from Charlie and wife.

The best thing about it is we have great conversations (honest and funny one definitely). Wai Lin's sister showed up a bit later. She is nothing like Wai Lin...hehe no offence man, she is gorgeous. Anyway, the dinner ended around 9.30 pm after a series of poking fun and talking crap. We headed to Colin's mansion and continue the party with nice red wine courtesy from Colin. We played "in-between" involved money. No....dun fucking shave my head ok. I had to leave early as I have another appointment with friends.

In the other occasion, I didn't freaking see any Escargot I'd been longing to try, in the menu. Thank god I didn't wear my tux there. It turned out, you can really just wear anything.

Jon, Chia Li and Maria Gomez n' Company

The Man is my best college buddy, I met the wife once in The Loft. I was the bestman though I could not tell the difference of my role and the other bridenapping posse. Anyway, maybe there it is just for the christians...I don't know. No karaoke with Hokkien songs by some uncle auntie. Just soothing lounge jazz (you know, those jazz in the shopping mall or hotel...). The food was not as soothing though, hehehe.

I thought you said you ain't dancing!

The dinner ended without any embarassing mabuk incident from Jon's buddies because everybody there were not that fierce really. I never shouted this wild since Eason's concert.

After the dinner, I joined my other friends in The Toproom for some live jazz. All Ah Bengs with urge to jazz were all here. The magnificient Maria Gomez (hope I don't mispell the name) was singing, she is good and woooo... There was the lady drummer. You get my ethusiastic don't you? A lady jazz drummer! And she is pretty good too. Mm...mm.. Susan Lancester was there too...

Freak: Ballroom Dancing

I remembered watching a great movie alone few months ago, while waiting for my second shift on the Saturday evening. The movie is Take the Lead, starring Antonio Banderas. Based on a true story about a ballroom dancing teacher trying to help those problematic school kids with his own way: dancing.

The dialog that still freshly remembered will be this:

if she allows me to lead, she is trusting me, but more than that, she is trusting herself...
Now, if your 16 year-old daughter is strong and secure, and trust herself, how likely she will let some idiot knock her out?
And if your son, can learn to touch a girl with respect, how would he treat women through his life?

I see ballroom dancing in a new perspective now... and isn't it nice to incorporate this type of program into some religious fundamentalist freak... Great because of the things learned. Be it life, friendship, business, politics (learned but have to wait until the next G.E)...

Looking back among the few things...

Jazz is good. I mean like Toproom/Top Hat jazz and not the KLCC shopping jazz... Pardon me for the discrimination. Have not try No Black Tie yet...and still looking for Blues music joint. I mean like Muddy Waters, Clapton's From The Cradle, B.B King, Albert King and not Robert Palmer versatile/compartible/pop for all market kind of blues. OK.

Camping is good. 4-5 pax will be ideal, because nobody is nobody boss, only ideas and suggestions. Centipede actually love butter, so be careful if you are having BBQ camping.

Poker is good. Casino Royale was a catalyst though. Secret alliance among players sucks. (Fuck you all lah jibye!). Emotion strategies cannot be applied because final stake was small. Still is I suppose.

The healthy amount of sweat that I suppose to perspire in 2006, I sweat it all out in one yoga class and one pilates class.

She...

Waking up Sunday morning is good. Playing badminton 30++km from home was especially good. After that, gaining back twice as much of what you lost during the game. Mmm...

Started to appreciate myself more and more each day. Narcissism is Necessary...hehe. Started to know the significant of the behaviour of acting strong in front of certain party.

I learned some skills of knowing friends among my friends. Who are there for you and who are the one who wait for your dooms. It's a bit late but what to do, my application to the "Social Uni" appear to be late.

Looking back and laugh at the statement "if weren't for us, you are sitting at home doing nothing". He was drop dead wrong. Hahaha...

Planning my immigration.

The lowdown is a good thing. I need to admit it. Everybody is doing their best out of it. Hopefully better in the coming 2007.

Carrier? Hmmm....... Ain't telling. But already make a 2007 resolution list. Got it laminated and beautifully hang in my room. Hahaa. Advice from a friend really.

Finally... Cilakak, they open in the month of December 2006 but everytime I drive past the building, I don't even come across any equipment. Kanineh... Y? Y?

I can go on and on but erm... Guess I better not. Besides looking back only to revise and not to stay there forever...sniff* sniff*...che.................Going to Singapore tonight. My first time again.

While Dota Ah Lian Suanie got her Warcraft Pack, I got my picture frame with some Indian art in it from Indian for Christmas, thanks alot Ms Chan. Before I say anything at all, I need to rate this...It's 9.99428689987899/10. (Sorry, that accurate yes, used to be a fan of pi)

This is the only movie that had me guessing and making me felt that I predicted correctly but actually I'm not. It's a roller coaster ride!!! The casts is non other than Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer, Jim Caviezel and Paula "Macam Whitney Houston" Patton.

Denzel Washington as Doug Carlin

The story goes like...nah don't feel like telling it. I'm waiting for the DVD. The things that I can tell is if you like movies like Mahjong Hero any recent stuff with Jordan Chan in it, Scary Movie 1, 2, 3 and 4, you get the idea... back the fuck up from this movie, jah.....

Val Kilmer as Agent Pryzwarra and also the sweet Paula Patton.

And also Jim Caviezel as Carroll Oerstadt.

The special thing about Jerry Bruckheimer and Ted Elliot on this movie is that all small thing no matter how small it is... is the potential spoiler. The keywords that I can tell is...

Twelve Monkeys, Arlington, Frequency & Penang before Penang Bridge

Muahahahahahaha... Sorry, it's the fading adrenalins.

Muhibahnya...

Muhibah used to be there most of the time when it is around festive season (you know, the kudah kepang thingy, the gasing thingy, the lion dance thingy, the indian dances thingy, be it while some visitings of APEC leaders or in the hotels during some conference thingy) and when those mat sallehs were around. This is their policy. "Be a good ambassador when you are out of the country especially in the west you hear?" That's what they told us to do before we headed to UK sometimes ago with our parents hard-earn money (after minusing taxes that the will put into country development such as sending Malaysian to the space to study the trajectory happen to the fucking teh when it is tariked in the space or playing batu seremban for the purpose of studying the forces in motion possessed by the freaking batu seremban-The taxes my dad pay was really a small fry because the cibai project cost 90++ million Ringgit Malaysia *breath*) .

Well that policy don't really works now... Because most of the informed ambassadors working or studying abroad have trouble burying or hiding their face because the mat sallehs knew... They knew and they start asking and most probably they begin to feel bored with your superficial cultural performances. Hey, it's not their fault, they didn't spend time digging all our backyard shit, it's our own countrymen who suppose to lead into 2020, who make their shit in the front porch and ask everybody to have a look. No, they are not selling those fiber based supplements-multilevel marketing product. Now they started to write articles about us. Pretty interesting really. Have a read, forward them to all your friends who think the mainstream paper already tell them all they need to know...Thank you.

Latest from The Economist:
http://www.economist.com/world/asia/displaystory.cfm?story_id=8362605

Business reporter Michael Backman: Part One
http://www.theage.com.au/news/business/while-malaysia-fiddles-its-opportunities-are-running-dry/2006/11/14/1163266550487.html

Business reporter Michael Backman: Part Two: In response to the CIBAI TUA PUI POH
http://www.michaelbackman.com/LatestAgeColumn.html

By the way, I know keris is part of Malay culture but waving it when you have your AGM is pure kam lan. Tarak paham ar...ok ok.... qham lan...ok?

The Most Beautiful Girl

Nicol Ann David

Crazy, Spontaneous & Definitely Tone-deaf Bunch

Playing badminton with Colin, Shin Yee, Charlie and Brother Run Far Far every fortnightly is really a time killing during the Sunday. By the time we put back whatever we had lost during the game, it's already 2.30 pm. Half of the day was gone left alone the journey back to Klang with dried sweat covering all over my body and the rest of the crew. Hardly smell anything though. The armpits are healthy. Well, that's the routine.

Last weekend was the craziest and "julung-julung kali" for that matter. After the game, we headed to Section 14 PJ, put in back the calories we had lost and gain some... After that we shopped for a while at the Digital Mall. After that we headed to OSIM warehouse sales, loafting for like two hours try all the robotic massagers and trying to convince myself it was a luxury not the a need. Imagine a 50% discounted from RM13,000++. Colin spent like RM800++ and Charlie spent approximately RM700++. Me and Brother Run Far Far didn't get anything. We just chilled with Charlie's Malboro lights.

After that about 3.30 pm, we went straight for cendol in Subang Jaya and people actually queued up for the rojak. Sure damm nice want lah... I got myself a KENT 1 because I know where we are heading next: Galaxy Karaoke... We play American Idol until 8.30pm with only RM24.00 perpax with food and drinks. We went straight back to Klang to have our dinner/supper. Charlie didn't join us cause he has to drive back all way the from Colin's house in Klang to his home in Bukit Rimau. Knn. Our supper ended 11.00 pm.

...............................................
...............................................
...............................................

Oh, I didn't mention anything about shower after game, bermuda shorts and knock-off polo tees with a deformed colar, did I?

Reverend K. I had no idea why he was there. I was on my way home after having dinner with my housemates. I walked into the already packed with students double storey. He was giving his talk to the students. Definitely a lots of laughter. Throughout the talk, He didn't make me believe in Buddhism (My belief in Buddhism shaken significantly when my over-zealous evangelist christians housemate "reasons" with me why Buddhism is just another superstition). He made me understand Buddhism better (quite different from what my mum thought me) .

My favourite books of His include "What Buddhists Believe" and "Food for The Thinking Mind". I bought "What Buddhist Believe" when I visited University Malaya during my sixth form. Never really read it, until I was bombarded with questions by my christians housemate who didn't really interested in knowing Buddhism. The book gives a overview of what buddhists believe and why the buddhists do that thing they do. Though "Food for The Thinking Mind" is sort of a compilation of quotes but nevertheless led me to a lots of reading of other books like Bertrand Russell and some Albert Einstein's papers.

Let's just say, with His way of teaching Buddhism and His approach in teaching the youth (to me), I can easily talk to Owen Wilson about Buddhism.

With all this I didn't say anything about me being a good buddhist. I am not. But if not because of His indirect teaching to me, I might probably become a believer rather than a person who understand and knows why he become a believer. And that's a really good news about Buddhism: You don't really need to believe in Buddhism to become a buddhist. How cool is that?! Tell me one mainstream religion that has this nature.

Anyway, today He is joining (I hope He is)Neo, Morpheous, Trinity and the rest of the crew.

May he not be born again
May he ceases to exist.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ilovecow.blogspot.com/2006/09/reverend-k-sri-dhammananda-1919-2006.html' title='Reverend K. We call them jazz. Nope, jazz is not a car which filthy rich ah beng like to modify. Jazz is a music genre. I was there with some new aquintances. Jazz fans sort of. Lot's people. Just hope that this annual event doesn't turn out like Bon-Odori.

After that very night, we headed straight to Toproom. Thanks to Suanie for her post. I fell in love with this place already. We had Sharizan and Julian Chan that night. Sharizan is that guy who sings for RTM. Julian Chan is that sax guy who performed with Disagree in channel 16 Astro. I don't really know what is good jazz and what's a lounge jazz. I just like the stuff that they play.

Probably the movie that I need to watch before leaving earth. Have you heard of the movie "Crossroad"? To all ahbeng, ahlian, and those who discuss Britney Spears music like Eric Clapton discussing Robert Johnson music, no this "Crossroad" hor is not le mobie is not le bilitni spie do one. The movie is about a boy searching for the Robert Johnson's 30th song. I watch the ending in RTM 2 some where in1996. Been searching for that movie every now and then. The trick is in order to keep the crab from crawling (is that the right word for crab?) out of the pail, you only need to put in two crabs or more. Do not put them individually. This is because if there are two or more crabs, and if one of the crab try to crawl out, the other will drag it back to the pail, disallowed any attempt of escaping.

Believe it or not, true or false is not really the issue here. The issue is this is how the crab society behave. Possessing a different ideas (or should I said, stand) is a no no.

"if you are here with me, you will need to think and act like me. By this way, we will be considered as one big fucking family"

Somehow, there are people who like to shove people with their dogmatic thinking and principles whether they want it or not. The worst thing is there is no such thing as if you don't like it this way, then leave. Trying to leave will result them to pull you back into thinking like them. That sense of "group" is so strong, that resistance will only lead to being an outcast and that happened to not only to teenagers but to adult also. Sad indeed.

To those who think, they need a group to own an identity so that they can clearly and proudly declare it to other people is pure chicken shit. Because at the end of the day when people grow wiser and smarter enough to realize who's talking cock and who's walking the walk, you will feel that the group you owned or belonged is getting smaller and smaller.

Heck, we'll be dead in our own coffin and not share isn't it. Of unless some Hitler-reincarnate asshole plan to do some ethnic cleansing because other people are much more smarter than him, then I'd got nothing to say lor...

Reunion With Cikgu Than

Yesterday, I went meet up with my standard four class teacher. Her name is Ms. Than (pronounced Tan). Besides Ms Than, there were there other classmate, Ms Cheong LL, Ms Karen Wong YY and Mr Loy TZ (ya, I know, you don't bother).

Ms Than is a bit tanned. Well, maybe during the eighties, fair skin was a in thing (thanks to boy George...hehehe). She is one of the most remembered teacher. LL messaged me up about the meeting and I was excited. All pictures started to come in mind. Raja Ema's Korea 88' Olympic theme (Ya, she used this song which is in BM to teach us, the method I remember only Michelle Pfeiffer would used in "Dangerous Mind"), keeping a cat as a class pet, The Sound of Music (don't ask...) and infactuation towards the teacher (ya, fucking don't ask about that too).

We were having our dinner in this House of Briyani opposites Bukit Tinggi Tesco. I came late and as I walked in, she call me by the name beefstew...of course not, it's my other name (don't ask that too, I am proud of my name ya, just ain't gonna let you know). She remembers me. Sop...sop...

The most interesting part is she took up the class with LL during LL's uni time. Here I am as classmate with my darjah empat cikgu, after what 12 years? How bizarre.

She stop us from calling her teacher anymore. "Now, we are friends, we can talk about almost anything", she said. We chat about everything, theater, blogs, world event and boys and girls stuff, marriage (burp...), Dan Brown and What-happen-to-them-Now.

The dinner lasted for like 2 hrs ++. We will meet again. LL will organise.
